My leadership styles are supportive and directive. But In my opinion,  the same leadership style does not fit in all the situations. The Leader should adopt the styles that will take a team in a new direction of achieving the goals

Ques 6. How do you start a new Project?

  • The first step I will take is I will study the entire project by my own and later I will share the objective of the project and the result of the project that has to be achieved with the team member
  • The second step I will take is I will sit down with my complete team and will do research on the project so that we can see how we can reach the expected result of the project
  • the third step I will take is I will make a complete list of the resources required for the project
  • The fourth step I will take is I will plan the necessary actions with my team and assign the goal to each and everyone in the team so that they can create their milestones.

Then I will start working on the project.

Ques 7. Your team has not chosen the option which you have chosen to reach the goal of the project. What will you do?

First, I will listen to my team why they are not agreeing on the option I have suggested. After listening to them If I feel that they have a valid reason why they have chosen the other option then I will definitely go with my team.

I will not take my team’s decision personally because at the end what really matters is the project completing on time and me and my team have achieved the expected result.

Ques 8. Can you explain about the triple constraint triangle?

A triple constraint triangle is the model of the project’s constraints. A triple constraint triangle consists of three components which are Time, Scope and Cost. One important factor is at the centre of the triangle which is Quality.


Cost:-Projects must be delivered within the budget which was initially decided
Time:-Projects must be delivered on time or before time to the client or the stakeholders
Scope:-Projects must meet the scope that was agreed
Quality:-Projects must meet the quality requirements of the customer

It is the accountability of the project manager to manage these important constraints throughout the project.

Ques 9. How will you take care of the underperforming team member?

I will choose the 3 step approach to support the underperforming team member.

1.IDENTIFY:- I will talk with my team member to check what my team member is dealing that he is not performing up to the mark.

2. COACH:– I will coach him after listening to him. If it is a personal problem then I will create something unique for him and make him feel relax. If it is related to performance then will develop him by giving him proper guidance and training.

3.SUPPORT:- I will continue to support him until his performance is improved and he is satisfied with it.

I will check whether my project is on track or not on track…..

  • By organising a meeting to share the condition of the project and also to check whether the team members are following their milestones or not following their milestones.
  • Lastly, I will support them entirely if they need my assistance at any point in time.

I maintain the performance of my team by taking the following actions:-

  • Set Targets:-It will be easy for my team to focus on the goal because now my team know their aim in the project
  • Conduct Reviews:- I will conduct weekly reviews rather than after the completion of the project
  • Provide Feedback:- I will weekly check each of the team members performance and give them feedback and will also take their feedback so that I can support them.
  • Track Performance:- I will create specific measures accordant to which I will check the performance of the project
  • Celebrate Project Success:- I will make sure that me and my team celebrate after achieving the milestones of the project and also when the team get appreciation from the client.
  • Reward team:- I will reward the team on a monthly basis to maintain their enthusiasm in work

Firstly I will not immediately inform anything to my team. I will take time and think why the decision has been made and who is answerable for this decision and then I will call for the group meeting or call the team member and will share the bad news to him or her. I will always make sure that there is always 2-way communication while sharing the bad news.

Ques 16. Can you share how do you set goals and track these for your team?

I set the goals of the team in the following steps:-

  • I create a specific measurable result ( SMR) for the project which has been given to me and my team. I create specific and measurable goals with a deadline (date and time) and make small goals which are easily achievable so that the team members remain on the path. For example:- 50% project will complete in 2.5 months rather than saying more than half project will complete in around 2.5 months.
  • Goals of each of the team members must match with the goals of the project.
  • I then communicate to my team members to make an Action plan (creating the milestones)  so that work is done before the deadline of the given goal.
  • I will then track each member progress.
  • Will take the update on regular intervals and then will reward at the end

The project management tools on which I have worked on are Kanban, Microsoft Project, Agile and Trello.

Teams play the most crucial part of any organisation. Teams partners with the firm to get essential work done. Motivated and excited team when combines with the energy, knowledge and skills can fulfil any tasks with ease and grace. I motivate my team in some of the following ways:-
    • I Create a gratifying environment for my team members.
    • I give opportunities to my team members to acquire new skills
    • I Encourage the members by valuing their idea
    • I make sure that each of the team members is happy and working with an optimistic attitude
    • I Encourage my team members to attempt again if they have done a fault.

I prioritize my tasks in my project by following some steps:-

  • I list down the jobs that are given to us and the responsibilities related to those  jobs.
  • I then determine the urgent and important jobs
  • Then I asses the worth of each of the job given
  • I then position the jobs in the order of the efforts needed
  • Lastly, I always give buffer time as the client may demand some additions or changes.
